Recording data at the atomic scale, meaning in the nanometer range, where currently this can be achieved at best using wavelengths in the blue light spectrum, would be a success. So far, manipulation of individual atoms has been impossible, except through an electron microscope. This means that in this case, we won't be able to obtain adequate results using existing techniques. It is necessary to develop better techniques that enable three-dimensional information recording, as in lithium niobate, only with higher resolution. Reducing the technological process in processors has its limits, and as of 2020, a conductive path thickness of 7 to 4 nanometers has already been achieved. Regarding SSD storage, the question is how far the miniaturization of NAND gates, on which this memory is based, can go to ensure continued proper operation. This also concerns the technological process that can produce nanometer-sized gates. When civilization achieves such perfection in memory production, reading, and writing, and thus in reading or writing speeds?because these values don't necessarily have to be equal?will it be a technology based on single particles or even atoms? Or perhaps it will utilize completely different, currently unknown particles, which we will only discover through the use of specific, advanced research tools or technical devices with parameters different from those currently known to humanity. Long-distance information transmission and the associated technology encounter serious problems when it encounters cosmic distances, and the material solutions and engineering used differ from those used at the nanoscale. At the nanoscale, information reading can be almost instantaneous, even though the speed of light still limits these phenomena. However, in the nanoworld, certain processes may turn out to be inconsistent with the laws we already know, as science may encounter such new solutions resulting from newly discovered laws that the old laws may be limited in terms of technology when what has been discovered proves to be qualitatively superior.
