A cavitation pump is a device based on cavitation, a phenomenon involving the implosion of steam bubbles in water. A cavitation pump utilizes this phenomenon to heat water. The heated water can be used to heat homes in winter. A cavitation pump is a device with very high thermal efficiency. From the perspective of modern heating and water technology, cavitation effects are unfavorable and destructive to pipes, leading to accelerated wear. In critical situations, cavitation can lead to violent effects that destroy fluid systems. Implosion is the opposite of explosion, as one might conclude. When implosion is used in liquids, as in the case of a cavitation pump, water boils because, as a result of cavitation, the steam bubbles implode, rapidly reducing the local pressure. At reduced pressure, water boils at a lower temperature than would be expected under natural conditions, such as those prevailing in the atmosphere. When building this type of pump, exceptionally durable materials resistant to cavitation erosion should be used. This erosion is, admittedly, one of the reasons cavitation pumps are not yet very popular. However, it is a cheap source of energy that can be used for a variety of purposes. Psychology also plays a role here, preventing the introduction of heat generation methods other than those resulting from habit.
